TRIPODSYSTEMS was established in 2003 as a software and technology
company. In 2003, main focus of the company was development of Enterprise
Resource Management and Planning Systems. In 2005, the company's goals were
redefined and the company thence concentrated on Integrating Business
Information to Geographic Data.
TECHNOLOGY, SOFTWARE, AND MAPS
Document Management and Archiving
2003 - 2006
Our company built a document management system capable of storing and
retrieving hard copy paper records in a computer system. This has greatly
improved various organizations by providing them the flexibility of having
efficient document retrieval, improving on management of paper records according
to government legislation, and also enabling organizations' employees to
flexibly access organizational data regardless of the location they are based.
Stock Management and Retail Management
2003 - 2006
We have also built an entire supply chain, stock management, and retail
management systems capable of serving small, medium, or large retail outlets.
The system covers ensures your stock, cash-flow, and supply management is
efficient and managed centrally while allowing an organization to expand
flexibly with the current available technologies.
Mapping
2003 – present time
TRIPODSYSTEMS has one of the most accurate and most detailed digital map
coverage for East Africa. Starting late 2003 to present, we have been collecting
and refining our Digital Map database so as to ensure our clients core business
functions are supported by Digital Maps provided by our company.
Portable devices used for Navigation
2007 – present time
Our Research and Design (R&D) team began work in 2007. After realizing
that most Navigation Systems had their own proprietary formats, we liaised with
different experts who had knowledge in the relevant fields. From surveyors,
system integrators and electrical engineers, to sales and marketing experts, we
built a resource pool that could help us develop digital maps compatible with
different devices. We also went a little further and started building our own
map conversion center. We needed to convert our digital maps into formats
compatible existing Navigation Systems.
We built several software and hardware technologies from our own team and
acquired others so as to be able to convert our maps into formats compatible
with different Automobile Navigation Systems. This work went on from 2007 to
2010 when we released our first editions of maps.
We are currently integrating our maps to other platforms so as to ensure
any person who intends to use any Navigation Systems in East Africa can do so
with as much ease as possible and with the best technology, supported by the
most accurate maps available provided by TRIPODSYSTEMS. We are the leading
company in East Africa in providing Digital Maps in an Automobile Navigation
Device.
We are currently working on map navigation and routing platforms for
Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Symbian, and other smart phones
and smart devices. We also help other companies convert and add their data into
Navigation Devices.
RESEARCH AND DESIGN, MICROCONTROLLERS AND
ROBOTICS
Our R&D team is constantly in the lookout for new technologies. As a
result, we are committed in building most of the technology within East Africa,
using mainly locals in the region. Our R&D team is working on integrating
microcontrollers with actuators and various other components so as to build
customized electronics that we need for our work.
In terms of construction, surveying, portable systems, manufacturing
automation, military equipment, and communication equipment, TRIPODSYSTEMS is
investing heavily to ensure that some of the automation done in Africa is
entirely designed and manufactured within the region.
